Bargaining Update #12

February 25, 2025

The ASA Bargaining Team met with the BOG representatives on February 25th to discuss key articles in the collective agreement. The following topics were covered:

  • Article 3: Academic Staff Association Recognition
  • 3.4 – Collective Agreement copies
  • New 3.5 – Instructors are ASA Members
  • Article 1: Definitions
  • New – Secondment
  • New – Acting Positions (e.g., Acting Dean)
  • Article 16: Grievance Procedures
  • Article 10: Supplementary Benefits

There was substantial agreement reached on several items.

The ASA Bargaining Team continued negotiations with the BOG representatives on March 4th, discussing several important articles:

  • Article 7: Conditions and Procedures Governing Reassignment of Workload
  • Article 8: Conditions Governing Salary Entitlements
  • 8.5.6 – New Grid Increment Article Proposed
  • 8.6.1 – Chairperson Stipend
  • Article 9: Determination of Academic Responsibilities
  • 9.2.1(b) – Workload Table
