Our Academic Staff Association (ASA) represents approximately 180 full and part-time instructional staff at the Grande Prairie and Fairview campuses. The ASA is a proud member of the Alberta Colleges & Institutes Faculties Association (ACIFA), as well as the Canadian Association of University Teachers/Association Canadienne Des Professerues Et Professeurs D’Université (CAUT/ACPPU).
We are committed to upholding and protecting academic freedom. For more information and resources, please visit the CAUT Academic Freedom Toolkit.
The NWP Academic Staff Association represents the interests of the Polytechnic's academic staff. We’re dedicated to ensuring that the voices of academic staff are heard and valued.
Our Objectives:
The Northwestern Polytechnic Academic Staff Association acknowledges that our campuses are located on Treaty 8 territory, the ancestral and present-day home of many diverse First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people. We are grateful to work, live, and learn on the traditional territory of Duncan's First Nation, Horse Lake First Nation, and Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation, who are the original caretakers of this land.
We acknowledge this land's history and are thankful for the opportunity to walk together in friendship, where we will encourage and promote positive change for present and future generations.
