Bargaining Update #23

June 6, 2025
The ASA Bargaining Team met with legal counsel to review the bargaining process and relevant Alberta labour legislation. Based on this review, legal counsel believes that certain infractions may have occurred and has filed a Bad Faith Bargaining Complaint with the Alberta Labour Relations Board, pursuant to sections 12(2), 60(1), and 60(3) of the Labour Relations Code (RSA 2000, c. L-1). The Alberta Labour Relations Board will review the complaint and may request further information or issue directions as appropriate.

The Northwestern Polytechnic Academic Staff Association acknowledges that our campuses are located on Treaty 8 territory, the ancestral and present-day home of many diverse First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people. We are grateful to work, live, and learn on the traditional territory of Duncan's First Nation, Horse Lake First Nation, and Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation, who are the original caretakers of this land.

We acknowledge this land's history and are thankful for the opportunity to walk together in friendship, where we will encourage and promote positive change for present and future generations.
